Genie (“Genie AI”, the “Service”) is operated by Maitansi Inc., the English name of 广州麦坦思信息科技有限公司 (“we”, “us”). These Terms apply when you use the Service through genie-ai.app and the Genie clients connected to the Global server. Accounts on the Global server are separate from accounts on the China service (genie-ai.com.cn), which has its own terms.
For some features we may publish specific rules (such as credit, campaign or paid-service rules). If specific rules conflict with these Terms, the specific rules prevail. How we handle personal data is described in the Genie Privacy Policy.
Please read these Terms carefully, especially the parts in bold, which limit our liability or concern disputes. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1.1 Genie is a personal assistant built on generative AI. It offers AI chat, AI agents, file storage and multi-device sync, as provided in the product. Its AI capabilities come from third-party AI models that we integrate.
1.2 We may add, change, suspend or discontinue features as technology, law or our operations require, and may offer features in testing that are less stable. We will give reasonable notice before removing a feature you rely on, where practical.
1.3 Where the Service is offered. The Service is currently not offered to people in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, and we have not yet prepared the compliance measures specific to those regions. If you access the Service from there, you do so on your own initiative, you are responsible for deciding whether your use complies with local law, and to the extent permitted by law we accept no liability arising from such use. We may restrict access from those regions at any time.
2.1 You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to create an account and use the Service.
2.2 Register with a valid email address that you control. Provide accurate information, and do not impersonate others or create accounts in bulk or for abuse.
2.3 Your account is for your personal use and may not be transferred, lent, rented or sold. Keep your password secure. Activity through your account is treated as yours, unless it results from our fault.
2.4 You may request deletion of your account in Settings. Deletion takes effect after a 15-day cooling-off period, during which you can cancel it. After that, the account and its data cannot be recovered.
3.1 Some features consume credits based on usage. How credits are granted, how long they are valid and how they are consumed are shown in the product or in specific rules. We may adjust free allowances and credit rules; changes that reduce credits you already hold will not apply retroactively.
3.2 Credits are a usage allowance within the Service. They are not money or property, have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, exchanged or transferred to other accounts, and are not refundable except as required by law or by the paid-service rules. We may revoke credits obtained through cheating, exploiting bugs, bulk registration or other improper means.
3.3 If we offer paid plans, the prices, billing, renewal and refund terms shown at purchase apply in addition to these Terms.
4.1 Use the Service lawfully. You must not use the Service to create, upload or share content that:
(1) sexually exploits or endangers children; (2) promotes or incites terrorism, violent extremism or violence against people; (3) harasses, threatens, bullies or defames others, or promotes hatred against people based on protected characteristics; (4) infringes others’ intellectual property, privacy or other rights, or discloses personal data without authorization; (5) is fraudulent, deceptive or impersonates others, including spam and phishing; (6) contains malware or is designed to compromise systems or data; (7) is otherwise illegal where you are or where it is received.
4.2 You must not: evade or circumvent the Service’s safety measures, usage limits or access controls; attack, disrupt or probe the security of the Service; reverse engineer it except where the law allows; scrape it by automated means without our permission; resell or provide access to the Service to others without our written permission; or use it to develop competing AI models from its outputs.
4.3 Export controls and sanctions. You must comply with applicable export-control and sanctions laws. You may not use the Service if you are located in, or are a resident or national of, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, or if you are on a sanctions or restricted-party list.
4.4 Some third-party AI providers have their own usage policies. Requests that violate them may be refused by the provider.
5.1 You are responsible for the content you submit (“Inputs”). You confirm that you have the right to submit it and that your Inputs and your use of the content generated (“Outputs”) do not violate the law or others’ rights. Do not include passwords, government ID numbers, payment card numbers or other sensitive data in Inputs.
5.2 As between you and us, and to the extent permitted by law, you keep your rights in your Inputs, and we assign to you any rights we may have in Outputs. Outputs may not be unique: other users may receive similar content.
5.3 We do not use your Inputs or Outputs to train our own models. How Inputs and Outputs are processed by third-party AI providers is described in the Privacy Policy.
5.4 You are responsible for content you make visible to others, for example by sharing a chat. Do not publish information about yourself or others that should stay private.
6.1 AI agents in the Service can act on your behalf within the permissions you grant. Actions an agent takes within those permissions are treated as yours.
6.2 AI can misunderstand or make mistakes, which may cause unintended results such as files being changed or deleted. Grant only the permissions an agent needs, back up important data and confirm important actions yourself. Authorize agents only for devices, accounts and services you own or are allowed to use; you are responsible for any third-party fees and liabilities that result.
7.1 Outputs are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete or wrong. They do not represent our views and are not medical, legal, financial, investment or other professional advice. You are responsible for decisions you make based on Outputs.
7.2 We may mark content as AI-generated, for example in file metadata. Do not remove or falsify such marks, and disclose that content is AI-generated where the law requires it.
The software, interface, text, icons, the “Genie” name and trademark, the robot character and other elements of the Service belong to us or our licensors, except content that belongs to you under these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute or commercially use them without our written permission.
9.1 If you violate these Terms or the law, we may, as appropriate, warn you, remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate your account, or revoke credits, and may report illegal content to authorities where required. Where practical and lawful, we will tell you the reason and give you a way to appeal through support@genie-ai.com.cn.
9.2 The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free or that Outputs will be accurate.
9.3 We are not liable for interruptions, delays or data loss caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including network or power failures, attacks, failures or changes of third-party services (including AI and cloud providers), or government actions.
9.4 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, and our total liability to you will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim and USD 50. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
To report illegal content, abuse, or content that infringes your rights, use the “Report” page on our website or email report@genie-ai.com.cn. We review reports and respond within a reasonable time.

11.1 We may revise these Terms and will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. For material changes, such as changes that reduce your rights or increase your obligations, we will notify you in the app or by email at least 15 days before they take effect, unless the change is required by law sooner.
11.2 If you keep using the Service after a revision takes effect, you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and you may delete your account.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the mainland of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes should first be resolved through good-faith negotiation; if that fails, either party may bring the dispute before the competent people’s court where 广州麦坦思信息科技有限公司 is domiciled.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms takes away the protection of mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence where those laws allow.
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions stay in effect. This English version is the governing text of these Terms; translations are provided for convenience.
